Madie was born June 3, 1999 in Cleveland Ohio. At birth she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Stenosis. .A condition where her pulmonary valve was too thick and narrow to allow blood supply into her heart. She was immediately rushed to the conjoining Rainbow Babies Hospital to undergo days of testing. They found that her heart was working 400x harder than normal. So we went home and waited. She needed to be 12 lbs. before they could operate to open up the valve. Our only concern was her size. She was born 3 weeks early and left the hospital only weighing 6 lbs. For the next 5 weeks we fed her as much as we could, went to the doctors almost daily, and prayed that her heart would not give out before the surgery. On July 12th she was exactly 12 lbs. so Dr.Lieberman performed a balloon valvoplasty to open up Madie's Pulmonary Valve. The surgery was a success and Madie's remarkable life began
